Hi all, How are we all doing on this fine February day? Seeing as I’m currently in Cambodia, rather than the U.K., I have to say that I am loving the warm weather we are currently having. Although there has been an unseasonable amount of rainy days, which I haven’t enjoyed as much.
With the cool weather I’ve really been craving some good ol’ western food, and whilst there’s many restaurants to choose from it’s a lot harder to cook at home. However after craving a good stuffed cheeseburger for a couple of weeks we took the leap and made Juicy Lucy burgers at home.
Juicy Lucy Burger.
- 200g Pork
- 300g Beef
- Finely diced garlic
- Finely diced onion
- pinch of Oregano
- pinch of paprika
- 1/4 tspn of salt
- 1/4 tspn of pepper
- 1/2 tspn of Worcestershire Sauce
- American cheese slice
Mince the Pork and Beef together. If you have a mincer or bought pre-cut mince then great if not you can mince it by hand – It’s the Cambodian way. There’s lots of great tutorials for how to cut meat into mince, but the rough premise is just to keep cutting it using a cleaver.
Combine with all the spices and herbs.
Make burger patty and flatten. Cut the American cheese into quarters and pile on top of each other in the middle of the burger. Mold the burger patty around the cheese, so that the cheese is sandwiched in the middle of the burger.
Cook for around 4 minutes on each side on a medium heat.
Assemble in the burger of our choice!
